The Director of Cyber Security is responsible for planning and implementing security measures to protect WCJC's computer systems, networks, and data from cyber-attacks; manages firewalls, critical servers, and intrusion detection systems; develops and executes test plans to determine the vulnerability of a system's computer network(s) from internal and external threats; recommends new security measures to enhance network safety and stay up-to-date by conducting research on the latest issues within the Cybersecurity community.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or closely related field, or eight years of related work experience or a combination of education and work experience. This position requires four years' experience in managing firewalls, conducting cyber security vulnerability assessments, and maintaining cyber security controls relating to firewalls, access control, authentication, anti-virus/anti-malware, patching and hotfix, and logging. This position requires the ability to work effectively and congenially with faculty, students, and staff and possess outstanding time management and organizational skills. Criminal background check is also required.
