Allison-Smith Company is looking for a full-time Paralegal responsible for Claims Administration and Safety to support an experienced, successful, and rapidly growing electrical contracting / engineering / technology firm in Smyrna, GA. To efficiently manage the administration of all General Liability and Worker’s Compensation claims and provide administrative support to the Safety Department. The Claims Administrator is to work in conjunction with the Corporate Safety Director, Project Management in achieving the objective of reducing the impact of worker’s compensation and general liability claims.
Role, Duties, and Responsibilities.
Analyze all loss claims for trends and recommend corrective action to Corporate Safety Director.
Conducts regular meetings with supervisor on all new and current ongoing claims and their status.
Act as a liaison between property owners, property managers, insurance companies, including OCIP and CCIP adjusters, brokers, and claimants.
Maintains claims data and attends claim reviews with insurance companies and brokers.
Manages all claims and ensures proper follow-through on all reportable accidents to determine that the employee's and company’s interests are protected.
Demonstrates continuous effort to decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and provide quality seamless customer service.
Handles and monitors property loss claims which may include the review of contracts and processing of invoices.
Reviews claims and uses discretion in determining which claims should be challenged.
Provides support to the field on insurance matters.
Designs and oversees the effective and efficient functioning of reliable and legally sound records management systems and information systems that support loss reduction strategies and claims management.
Conducts “first notification process” with all General Liability and Worker’s Compensation Insurance claims and follows up with employees, field supervisors, and Safety Department staff on the status of claims.
Adheres to all Allison-Smith Co. safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management.
Facilitate the Worker Compensation Return-to-Work Program.
Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Develop and oversee effective, relevant, and sustainable safety and health training.
Establish and maintain a culture of collaboration between safety staff, project management team members, and clients.
Assist with investigations of incidents and near misses and perform root cause analysis and institute recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
Advanced computer skills, including Office, Word and Excel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Work Qualifications.
General knowledge of Workers Compensation and General Liability.
Knowledge of the principles of risk and insurance management, including the specific understanding of property and casualty insurance and loss control.
Knowledge of the fundamental principles of industrial safety practices and procedures.
Proficient research, interpersonal and communicative skills.
Ability to prepare clear, sound, accurate, and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
Approaches work in a meticulous, thorough, and detailed manner.
Can be trusted to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company values.
Keeps files and work area organized.
Prioritizes work to meet goals or deadlines.
Fluent in Spanish preferred.
Education and Work Experience Guidelines.
High school diploma with five (5) years of administrative experience; AND,
Two (2) years of experience in claims management; OR,
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as determined by the hiring manager.

The employee must be able to operate tools such as camera and photographic equipment, headsets, desks, chairs, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, calculators, monitors, keyboards, printers, commercial vehicles, etc.
