The Cyber Security & Privacy lab (CSP-lab) of Prof. Christina Pöpper, part of the Center for Cyber Security at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Research Engineer to work on wireless and network security.
The CSP-lab conducts cutting-edge research in communication and cyber security and privacy, in particular on
Security and privacy in wireless systems and networks
Security in airborne communication
Online privacy and anonymous communication
The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project on the topic of wireless and network security. A particular focus is the security of air-traffic communication as in place between commercial aircraft, drones, UAVs etc. Systems of interest are ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast), GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), and other systems and protocols in use for the communication between mobile devices. Research methodologies will include experimental work as well as simulations; additional expertise in statistic methods and ML/AI will be beneficial. The candidate will work in an international and diverse environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students and is expected to drive research projects to a certain level of independence.
Applicants for the position must have a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security or closely related fields. Excellent experimental skills relevant to the project are required.
